Creative Industries Network UBC


CIN UBC is a student-led club that aims to combine the world of creativity and business. Encompassing industries such as film, graphic design, marketing/social media, fashion, creative writing, and more, we provide students from a variety of backgrounds and interests with the chance to network and find opportunities in the artistic fields where their passions lie.
This brand guide proposal accomplished many of the club’s goals for 2024: create a modern and fresh look for our club’s online presence, have a consistent image through multiple digital channels, and focus on attractive designs that would create more traffic at our in-person events.
The production of club stickers was another initiative that set us apart in terms of promotional purposes at club fairs, in-person events, and for overall morale. I drafted diverse concepts with multiple variations, and we ended up voting and printing Slide 1 and Slide 9.
Following a dip in social media and in-person engagement, I conducted surveys and engaged in discussions with peers to identify the key issues surrounding our campus presence. To address this and generate more success at future events, I produced a dynamic brand introduction video to enhance our brand visibility and recognition across the student body. Utilizing engaging typography and colorful motion graphics, I crafted a visually compelling narrative that captures the essence of our club. The insights I collected from social media analytics and conversations with fellow students ensured it addressed common, yet unspoken, questions. The final product is an interesting and concise introduction that highlights our mission and activities.
Utilizing a revised version of my brand proposal, our Instagram feed is designed to accurately portray our creative and exciting events. The use of different heading fonts and graphic elements allows for each post to have its own identity while staying consistent to the refreshing, modern feel of our Instagram presence. Through intentional design and copywriting, these posts portray concise messages that catch the attention of anyone simply scrolling through their feed — followers and non-followers alike.
Alongside event reminders and other graphics on our Instagram page, we utilize Reels to create dynamic event recaps and other forms of engagement. Following entertaining trends allows our content to stand out and stay memorable.
