Arts Undergraduate Society UBC

The Arts Undergraduate Society is the largest undergraduate society at the UBC. The Health and Wellness department specifically has the objective of promoting healthy habits and the importance of physical and mental well-being for students. To accomplish this, we utilized a strategic combination of digital and in-person events to reach a wide audience and spread helpful information. Additionally, light, encouraging colours and designs conveyed complex messages in a concise manner, and allowed us to stay recognizable within the larger AUS brand. 

The Myth Busting Monday series was a weekly Instagram Story in which we would debunk a popular health-related myth, and provide more accurate information to destigmatize hard topics related to mental health. Creating a visually engaging yet readable piece of quick content was an exciting challenge that required contributions from all sections of the team.

This Instagram Reel series of cooking tutorials was a collaboration with UBC Cooking Club, and aimed to provide quick and easy healthy recipes for students. The dishes were made to be as accessible and realistic as possible, especially since all the ingredients used in the videos were available for free in the AUS community pantry. The reels were edited with trending audios and a popular fast-paced style to keep viewers engaged and enhance the appeal of both the process and the final dish. Despite the simplicity of the actual products, the creative production of these videos generated plenty of engagement, with around 10K views per reel.
